Mark Gittleman
Chief Strategy Officer, Aegis Aerospace
Mark Gittleman was Aegis Aerospace’s founding President & CEO and is now the company’s Chief Strategy Officer. Aegis Aerospace was formed in 2021 through the merger of MEI Technologies and Alpha Space Test & Research Alliance. Aegis is a woman-owned, nation-wide commercial space and lunar exploration company and an experienced, respected DoD and NASA contractor.
Mark has been involved in the commercial space industry and with NASA for over 30 years. He was Alpha Space’s President & CEO before its merger with MEIT. Before Alpha Space he was Executive Vice President for Intuitive Machines, and before IM he was a long time executive with Oceaneering International, Inc. He started with Oceaneering as a hard hat construction diver in the Gulf of Mexico then helped found Oceaneering Space Systems in 1988. He led OSS for many years, then led Oceaneering’s world-wide subsea drilling and production controls business for his last four years with the company. He serves on several advisory boards including the Subsea Valley Technology Cluster in Oslo, Norway, the University of Houston, Clear Lake College of Science and Engineering, the Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership’s executive board, and Stitchlock, Inc. a medical device company. Mark has a BS in Ocean Engineering, a BA in Political Science, holds a patent for the robotic harvesting of solids from fluids, and is a registered professional engineer in the State of Texas.
