Gwen Griffin
Chair, Texas Space Commission Board of Directors
Gwen Griffin is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Griffin Communications Group. Since launching the agency in 1997, she’s led the Griffin team in developing and executing strategic communications campaigns and programs for both consumer and trade audiences. As CEO, Gwen focuses on strategic planning and advocacy for the agency and its clients.
Global brands and commercial space industry leaders have trusted their communications to Gwen and her team – including Aegis Aerospace, Aldrin Family Foundation, Amazon Studios, Black Sky, Blue Forge Alliance, Blue Origin, Boeing, CVR Energy, ILC Dover, Liva Nova, NASA, Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, LEGO, Million Air, Paramount Pictures, and Starlab.
Gwen volunteers her time to support economic development, space workforce development and STEAM education. She serves as Chair of the Texas Space Commission, Chair of the Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership, Executive Director of Blue Origin’s non-profit Club for the Future, an executive member of the Space Center Houston Board of Directors, member of the College of Sciences Dean’s Advisory Board at her alma mater the University of Central Florida, and a Trustee of the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation.
Earlier in her career, Gwen held positions such as Director of Marketing for NASA-Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex; Public Relations/Promotions Manager for Space Center Houston; and Area Marketing Manager for Southwest Airlines. She also worked for several other agencies, including Edelman Worldwide and DPW Public Relations.
Gwen is based in the Houston, TX headquarters of Griffin.
