George Motter is currently Senior Vice President and Chief Engineer of Axiom Station, providing overall technical authority and engineering leadership for Axiom Station. His previous involvement in the full lifecycle of manned spaceflight development and operations enables him to drive both rigor and innovation into the worldʼs first commercial space station.
Prior to Axiom, George was instrumental in the design and development of mission critical systems at SpaceX for over 13 years. As Senior Manager of Ground Segment and Launch Communications, he was responsible for building a worldwide network of over 30 command, telemetry, and optical tracking assets for Falcon 9, Falcon Heavy, Dragon, Starlink, and Starship as well as the design and deployment of the initial network gateway antenna sites for the Starlink constellation. George also managed the communications infrastructure and technical integration with NASA for crew and cargo missions to the International Space Station.
Before taking on roles in the space industry, Georgeʼs 15-year tenure at Lehigh University concentrated on advanced networking applications, remote instrumentation, real-time satellite conferencing, and multi-channel video compression techniques for satellite networks.
