John Mulholland

Vice President and Program Manager, International Space Station, The Boeing Company

John Mulholland is Boeing’s vice president and program manager for the International Space Station (ISS), leading overall integration and operations of NASA’s orbiting laboratory. The ISS is the largest, most complex international scientific and engineering program in history, enabling 150 ongoing experiments annually while supporting continuous human habitation for 20 years. Mulholland is responsible for providing sustaining engineering, expanding the station’s ability to conduct scientific and technical research, and implementing vehicle enhancements. 

Prior to this role, Mulholland served as vice president and program manager for the Commercial Crew Program, leading the development of the Crew Space Transportation (CST)-100 Starliner system that will take crews from U.S. soil to the ISS in support of NASA and other commercial customers.  

Previously, Mulholland served as Boeing’s vice president and program manager for the Space Shuttle Program, responsible for overall direction and successful execution, from January 2008 to August 2011. He served in several program and systems leadership roles in support of the Space Shuttle Program for Boeing and NASA from 1986 to 2008. 

Mulholland is a graduate of New Mexico State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering. Mulholland is based in Houston.
